Lithium conversion kits by golf cart model

Battery bays change with the model and the year — a 2006 and a 2010 Club Car Precedent don't take the same batteries. Find your generation below; each page lists the kits that fit, the ones that don't, and why. Checked October 25, 2026.

Not sure which generation you have?

  • Count the batteries and read their labels. Six 6V batteries = 36V; six 8V or four 12V = 48V. The count also tells you which tray you have (an E-Z-GO RXV came with either four 12V or six 8V batteries, in different trays).
  • Find the serial number. On a Club Car it's a sticker with two letters and ten digits (for example PH0915-123456): the first two digits after the letters are the model year. E-Z-GO and Yamaha put a serial plate on the frame, usually under the seat; their decoders give the year.
  • Look under the seat for lithium. If there's no row of lead-acid batteries, your cart may have a factory lithium system (Club Car Tempo/Onward Lithium, E-Z-GO ELiTE): conversion kits don't apply.
