Highest score for the money among kits that fit.

The highest score among kits the brand lists for this cart.
Most continuous current and energy — for hills, lifts and heavy loads.
Before you buy
The lead-acid Onward is a Precedent underneath — same bucket, same ERIC charging — dressed as a personal cart, often lifted and with bigger wheels. Those upgrades raise the current the cart pulls, which matters more than the fit when you pick a pack.
Not sure it's this one? Compared with the Club Car Tempo (2018 and newer (lead-acid)): the same kits in our list fit both.
Epoch says its full-size 48V 105Ah kit (18.1 × 13.4 × 9.8 in) "fits Club Car Precedent and Onward carts" and maps the Onward to its Precedent configuration; RoyPow and another maker do the same with their Precedent mounts.

Beyond the battery
The parts owners most often forget — and that cause most "my cart won't move" problems.
In our database, kits that fit the Club Car Onward are listed between $640 and $2,700 on the brands' own sites (checked October 25, 2026). Add a 48V-to-12V converter if the kit doesn't include one, a charge plug for the Club Car ERIC receptacle, and installation if you don't do it yourself.
For the Club Car Onward, among kits the brand lists for this cart, the Epoch Batteries 48V 105Ah Big Box complete kit has our highest score. The best choice still depends on your budget and terrain — see our three picks above.
On the Club Car Onward, often only with mounting work: the Precedent bucket has dividers, a raised center ridge and a center hold-down rod, so you need a thru-hole pack, a kit made for your model, or a bracket (and sometimes cutting the ridge). Several Amazon reviewers report packs that did not fit and could not be returned.
Yes. A lithium Club Car Onward can't use its lead-acid charger, which has the wrong charging profile: you need a 58.4V lithium charger, which most kits include (check the card). This cart: no OBC — ERIC charging.
