How we score kits
We don't bench-test batteries. We compare what each brand publishes — spec sheets, warranty terms and kit contents — and link every source. Last full check: October 25, 2026.
The 100-point score
- Energy (25 points) — more kWh means more miles per charge.
- Continuous power (20) — the amps the battery can deliver all the time; matters for hills, lifts and loads.
- Warranty (20) — 10 years or more gets full marks.
- What's in the box (15) — charger, 12V converter and charge meter.
- App and cold protection (10).
- Weight for the energy (10) — lighter per kWh is better.
When a brand doesn't publish its continuous current or weight, we show "Data missing" instead of a score. A low score should mean a weaker kit — not a brand that keeps its numbers private.
How we decide whether a kit fits your cart
We split carts into generations by make, model and years — the points where the battery bay, the stock batteries or the charging system change. For each kit and each generation we apply these checks in order, and every verdict on the site says which one decided it.
- Factory lithium carts (Club Car Tempo/Onward lithium, E-Z-GO ELiTE): the battery talks to the controller, so no conversion kit fits.
- Voltage: a 36V cart takes a 36V (38.4V) kit, a 48V cart a 48V (51.2V) kit.
- The brand's own statement: its kit finder, compatibility chart or product page. If an owner's report contradicts it, we say so and follow the safer answer.
- Size against packs documented to fit: if a kit's footprint is no larger than a pack documented to fit that cart (either way round, ¼ inch tolerance) and it's no taller than the stock batteries (about 10.9 in), it fits — with a hold-down bracket.
- Size against packs documented not to fit: at least as large as one of those → it doesn't fit.
- Size against the measured bay, where we have a measurement (for example the 21 × 23.5 in E-Z-GO TXT tray).
- Larger than anything documented for that cart → we don't count it as a fit without modifying the tray.
We also flag packs whose continuous current is less than half of what the stock controller can draw: they fit, but expect cut-outs on steep hills. Raw data and sources: brand finders (Epoch), a maker's compatibility chart, Vatrer, Allied and RoyPow product pages, Fleet Lithium, retailer guides and owner reports.
How we make money
Some brands pay us a commission when you buy through our links ("Check price on official site" in coral, and the Amazon buttons). That money keeps the database free. It never changes a score, a fit verdict or a ranking: kits from brands without an affiliate program are scored and ranked exactly the same way. We don't sell batteries, installs or sponsored placements. Found a wrong number? Tell us — we fix it and note the date.
Who's behind this site
An independent guide, published by Trade Regency LLC.
- We read every spec sheet and warranty, and link the source.
- We don't bench-test batteries. When data is missing, we show it instead of guessing.
