From 2011 the Drive takes six 8-volt batteries and a new charge-plug shape, shared with the Drive2. Its tray is long and about 14 inches deep, so wide packs (15 in and up) are the ones that don't fit.
Not sure it's this one? Compared with the Yamaha Drive (G29) (2007–2010): its factory batteries are four 12V Trojan T-1275 (owner's manual) (here: six 8V Trojan T-875 (owner's manual)); the charge receptacle is a Yamaha 48V 3-pin (2007–2010 shape) (here: Yamaha 48V 3-pin (2011+ shape)); 1 kit in our list fits this one but not that one, and 0 the other way round.
An owner measured a 2015 Drive tray at roughly 14 × 32 × 10 in with about 12 in from the tray floor to the seat. Brands sell 18.1 × 13.4 in (Epoch "Yamaha 2011+"), 22 × 12.125 in (160Ah) and 13.14 × 12.24 in (thru-hole) packs for it; a 15.4 in-wide pack exceeds the tray depth.

Beyond the battery
The parts owners most often forget — and that cause most "my cart won't move" problems.
In our database, kits that fit the Yamaha Drive (G29) are listed between $640 and $2,700 on the brands' own sites (checked October 25, 2026). Add a 48V-to-12V converter if the kit doesn't include one, a charge plug for the Yamaha 48V 3-pin, and installation if you don't do it yourself.
For the Yamaha Drive (G29), among kits the brand lists for this cart, the Epoch Batteries 48V 105Ah Big Box complete kit has our highest score. The best choice still depends on your budget and terrain — see our three picks above.
On the Yamaha Drive (G29), usually, if the tray is big enough and you have a hold-down bracket. Measure length, width and height first and compare them with the kit size on each card.
Yes. A lithium Yamaha Drive (G29) can't use its lead-acid charger, which has the wrong charging profile: you need a 58.4V lithium charger, which most kits include (check the card). This cart: no OBC, but the charge port's third pin talks to the controller.
